Reporting an Emergency

Your safety is paramount to us, so we’ve prepared the following list of emergency contacts.

For fire service, police service and/or ambulance service.

In a critical emergency: 999

National Gas Emergency number (TRANSCO):

In a gas emergency act quickly and take the following safety steps:

  • Get fresh air immediately. Open all doors and windows to ventilate the room.
  • Switch off the appliance and do not use it again until it has been checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer.   

  • Turn off the gas supply at the mains.   

  • Call the National Gas Emergency number (see above).

If you are feeling ill visit your GP or the hospital immediately and tell them that your symptoms may be related to carbon monoxide poisoning. 

If you have had your water cut off or if you have concerns over the quality of your water please contact Scottish Water.

Water supply emergency: 0845 600 8855

Electricity issues in your area: 0845 272 7999

If you have any concerns as to your power supply you should call your local distribution company. For central and southern Scotland this is Scottish Power, or of course you can call your electricity supplier whose contact numbers can be found on your bill.
